I began the special event chapter in my life working with 2 legendary women.

Katharine Hepburn who narrated and hosted a tribute documentary in honor of Jimmy Stewart,

and Audrey Hepburn who hosted and narrated concerts around the country to benefit UNICEF.

They set the bar for everything I have done in my professional and personal life ever since.

They were gracious, elegant, charming, funny and very real and down to earth. I will always be grateful for the lessons learned and the time together with these 2 icons of our generation.

Islands of Adventure Grand Opening - Universal Studios - Florida

Randy directed the Grand Opening of Universal Studios latest theme park. The event was hosted by Steven Spielberg who was also Executive Producer of the event. The 5 million dollar - 20 minute spectacle held before an invited audience and seen on television worldwide brought the Islands to life featuring 100 foot inflatables, 500 dancers, Kirk Franklin and Nu Nation, Spiderman's entrance by helicopter, spectacular daytime pyrotechnics all accompanied by an original score by William Kidd and performed by a Symphony Orchestra.

GRAND OPENING

Randy conceived and directed HORIZONS, The Grand Opening of General Motors Place - a 22,000 seat arena. The event featured Shania Twain, Sarah McLaughlin, along with Ice Skating performances by Kurt Browning, Kristi Yamaguchi,and David Foster and the 100 member Vancouver Symphony. The highlight of the event was an aerial ballet conceived by myself and Cirque Du Soleil's Debra Brown, the ballet featured 24 aerialists, 20 dancers and a 500 member choir. The event garnered 2 ISES awards for "Best Theatrical Event" and "Best International Spectacular". The event was broadcast Nationwide on Canadian Television.

Some of the most notable events in my life was Commitment to Life for Aids Project Los Angeles.

I directed the 1997 COMMITMENT TO LIFE at The Universal Amphitheatre featuring performances by Elton John, George Michael, Julie Andrews, Joni MIthchell, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Marriane Faithful, Garth Brooks and Little Richard. The event was produced by Bernie Taupin.

For a consecutive 5 years I also produced COMMITMENT TO LIFE for Aids Project Los Angeles at the Universal Amphitheatre. Over the 5 years the internationally acclaimed events featured historic performances and appearances by; Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Melissa Manchester, Carol Channing, Wynonna Judd, Kenny Loggins, Billy Joel, Patti Austin, Patti LaBelle, Natalie Cole, Bruce Vilanche, Patti Lupone, Sarah Brightman, Liza Minnelli, Madonna, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand and former First Lady - Hillary Rodham Clinton. The events raised a total of 25 million dollars for APLA.
